Jackie Kim: The Visionary Behind OX

Jackie Kim, a talented and bold Mexican businesswoman, founded OX Chic with a clear vision to captivate women’s fashion tastes. Her original designs have gained international fame, catching the attention of celebrities like Paris Hilton. Known for her creativity and elegance, Jackie broke new ground with her jewelry line, incorporating chains and precious stones, which in 2015 earned her recognition as one of the most promising women in fashion.

By 2017, her OX Chic collection of dresses and accessories became a red-carpet favorite, adored by leading figures in film, theater, and television. Her exclusive designs are frequently seen at prestigious events, turning her brand into a true beauty empire. Her designs have graced music videos, Netflix series, Mexican telenovelas, magazine covers, and red carpets. Notably, she designed a successful line of dresses for former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, achieving remarkable acclaim. Additionally, Jackie has showcased her talent on various television programs, inspiring audiences with the message that hard work and perseverance can make anything possible.

Despite her numerous achievements, Jackie remains humble and is widely admired for her charisma and professionalism. OX Chic has emerged as one of Latin America's most coveted brands, and with upcoming fashion shows in major cities, Jackie continues to redefine the fashion landscape and captivate the most discerning audiences.

I would like to express my profound gratitude to the team of professionals who have joined the "Stand With Her" initiative against pervasive violence.

The reason I embarked on this mission is the countless women who lack a voice.

I am also deeply thankful to my family, especially my son, for their unwavering support and immense love. My heartfelt thanks go to those who have recognized my value and believed in my talents throughout my life. Specifically, I want to acknowledge Patty Lavalle, Gabriel Blanco, Alberto Gomez, Thank you, Alberto Gómez, for being the first person to immediately step up when I told you I was launching a clothing line. I still remember your words: “Wow, Jackie, congratulations! Let me know how I can help.” Right away, you started sending me contacts, saying, “Tell them you're coming from me.” Without a second thought, you extended your generous hand and started opening doors for me. Tim Donovan just to mention a few. (Thank you, Señor Tim, for believing in me when I struggled to believe in myself. Your teachings, patience, and faith in my abilities, regardless of others' doubts, have been invaluable. I hope and believe I have never disappointed you). Also Thanks to the celebrities and television stations for believing and trusting in my work.

This fight has only just begun. Recently, I experienced a form of violence, racism, humiliation, and emotional distress. However, these challenges have only made me stronger, igniting a fierce determination within me to succeed and become a powerful, resilient force. It is this same strength that I will channel to support and empower women facing difficult situations.

Violence is not solely physical; it also manifests in economic, psychological, emotional, sexual, social, and coercive forms.

"From the depths of my struggle emerged a force of unwavering strength; what was meant to break me only forged a fighter. I now channel this power to uplift and empower those who face their own battles".

If you are experiencing domestic violence, it’s crucial to prioritize your safety and well-being. Here are steps you can follow:

1. Recognize the Abuse

• Understand the signs of abuse, whether it’s physical, emotional, financial, or psychological. Recognizing that you are in an abusive relationship is the first step to getting help.

2. Reach Out for Help

• Confide in someone you trust: A friend, family member, or co-worker who can offer support.
• Call a domestic violence hotline: In the U.S., contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233. They can offer advice and connect you with local resources.
• Seek professional support: Consider contacting a counselor or therapist specialized in domestic violence.

3. Create a Safety Plan

• Prepare an exit strategy: Plan how to leave safely. Keep important documents, money, and emergency contacts accessible.
• Identify safe places: Whether it’s a family member’s house or a shelter, know where you can go.
• Know emergency contacts: Save numbers of nearby shelters or law enforcement.

4. Document the Abuse

• Keep records of incidents, including dates, details, and any evidence such as photographs or messages. This documentation may be useful for legal protection or restraining orders.

5. Seek Legal Protection

• File for a restraining order: This can help keep your abuser away and provide legal backing.
• Consult a legal expert: They can advise you on your rights and legal options based on your location.

6. Leave When It’s Safe

• When you feel it is safe, leave the situation immediately. You can reach out to shelters or organizations that provide transportation, housing, and other support.

7. Get Medical Attention

• If injured, seek medical help immediately. Be honest with medical staff about the cause of your injuries so they can assist in documentation.

8. Find Support Services

• Many organizations provide counseling, legal advice, and financial assistance to survivors of domestic violence. Look for local domestic violence shelters, support groups, or women’s organizations.

9. Stay Safe After Leaving

• Change locks and secure your home if you live separately from the abuser.
• Update personal information: Consider changing phone numbers, emails, and social media privacy settings.
• Stay connected: Keep in touch with support groups and trusted people who can assist you during this time.

These steps can vary depending on your location and personal circumstances, but the key is to act in a way that prioritizes your safety. You don’t have to go through this alone—help is available.
